EMMERDALE fans have been left seriously distracted by Charles' 'EastEnders rip off' father.

The latest instalment of the long-running ITV soap aired on Thursday night.


Viewers watched as the villages vicar Charles Anderson received a mysterious phone call.

Following the brief conversation the character, played by Kevin Mathurin, headed to the prison.

While outside a strange man appeared which prompted Charles to order him to stay away from his family.

However, he soon realised that it was in fact his father Victor.

He had just been released from custody after serving a lengthy prison term.

As the father and son had a reunion outside the high-security jail, fans were left seriously distracted.

They compared the new arrival, who is portrayed by Eddie Osei to an EastEnders villain.

Fans were convinced he spoke the exact same way to BBC gangster Phil Mitchell.

Writing on social media, one said: "I’m assuming this bloke talking like Phil Mitchell is Charles’s dad."

A second said: "Why is this bloke with Charles talking like a Bond villain/Phil Mitchell impressionist?"

"Oh hello, Vicar not vicaring but meeting someone who sounds & acts like Phil Mitchell," said a third.

While a fourth commented: "Don't tell me the brother's going to end up back at Charles's house? Sounds like Phil Mitchell."
