David Beckham branded a 'w*****' by Roman Kemp – as dad Martin admits it was the first time he heard him swear

MARTIN Kemp has revealed the first ever time he heard his son Roman swear was when he called David Beckham a "w*****".

The father and son duo made an appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox on Friday night and began reminiscing about Roman's childhood.

Speaking about when they would go to football matches together, 27-year-old Roman said: "I remember I was four years old and I was allowed to stand on a seat and go 'you f***ing diver!' to one of the goalies.

Martin, 58, then revealed the shock moment his son swore in reference to former footballer David during his heyday.

“I remember the first time I ever heard you swear!” he told Roman.

“The first time I ever heard you swear, remember when David Beckham came back from the World Cup and he came on to the Arsenal pitch for the first time, and everyone on the stand was going ‘boo Beckham!!’

“And you stood up on your chair you went 'w****r!' he added, flipping the bird to demonstrate what his son did.

As the pair lounged on their sofa, Roman began laughing at his dad's anecdote as Martin said: "And I’m looking at you thinking where did that come from?!"

Fans of Celebrity Gogglebox were loving Martin and Roman's banter on the Channel 4 show and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

"Love Martin and Roman Kemp on #celebritygogglebox they have such a great father/son relationship," one viewer tweeted.

A second person referred to the Beckham story and wrote: "@romankemp and his dad Martin str epic on #CelebrityGogglebox – lol @ what he shouts at David Beckham."

And a third viewer added: "Oh it’s okay if you swear at the football doesn’t matter if you’re four years old."

A fourth person tweeted: "Love Roman and Martin Kemp on Gogglebox."

Their latest appearance on the celeb edition of the much-loved show, comes after it was revealed how much they can earn for sharing just one Instagram post.

Since coming third on I'm A Celebrity in 2020, Capital Radio host Roman has seen followers flock to him on Instagram.

He now has 1.1 million followers, and can expect to earn £5,100 by sharing a single post on Instagram.

This is five times more than his dad Martin, who can earn £1.5K.
