CORONATION Street's Alex Bain returned to hospital yesterday after fracturing his ankle and revealed when he'll be back filming.

The actor, who has played Simon Barlow for 14 years, shared a snap of his moon boot while waiting inside Royal Blackburn Hospital.

After having an X-ray, Alex said he'd need to return in four weeks for another check-up, but doctors are pleased with how things are progressing.

He wrote: "Should be healed soon enough guys! Thanks for all your love and support!"

Alex, 20, revealed missing Corrie hasn't been the most difficult thing about his injury, rather it's being unable to perform with the England Dance Squad.

He was forced to miss out on a recent international competition but did cheer the team on.
