What happened to Becky McDonald in Coronation Street?
Becky was first introduced to Coronation Street in 2006 when she bumped into former cell mate Kelly Crabtree (Tupele Dorgu).
She soon grew close to Kelly, but when she kicked Becky out of her flat, she had her revenge by framing Kelly for stealing money from their colleagues at Underworld.
Becky left shortly after to serve a three-month sentence in prison but was seen again when she joined a literacy class for ex-offenders.
She was joined here by Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh) who was doing voluntary work.
After demonstrating how she had become a changed woman, Hayley and husband Roy Cropper (David Neilson) decided to take Becky in.
She ended up living with the couple for several years at the flat above Roy’s Rolls and became extremely loyal to the pair.
Becky started seeing Steve McDonald behind Michelle Connor’s (Kym Marsh) back and in 2009, they made their relationship official.
Her first attempt at marrying Steve didn’t go according to plan as the registrar refused to perform the ceremony as Becky was too drunk.
However, their second wedding went ahead, much to the couples’ delight.
Becky and Steve suffered heartache when she had two miscarriages so they decided they wanted to adopt a child in 2010.
But a bad reference from Becky’s half-sister Kylie (Paula Lane) meant they were turned down.
This was when Kylie was introduced to Coronation Street, who shocked fans when she sold her young son Max to Becky and Steve.
Sadly, this was the beginning of the end for the once happy couple as Steve couldn’t take the pressure of the situation and told social services everything, leading to Max being taken into care.

Distraught over losing Max, Becky divorced Steve and ended up getting her revenge against him in 2012.
Steve and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) were expecting twins and got engaged. But shortly after, she experienced a miscarriage.
To ensure Steve kept away from Becky, she said she lost the babies after she pushed Tracy down the stairs.
Following the nuptials on Steve and Tracy’s wedding day though, Becky revealed the truth, handing him the medical records which proved she wasn’t pregnant at the time.
This was then the end of Steve’s first marriage to Tracy who he tied the knot with for a second time in 2018.
In 2012, Becky met manager of Whittingham Place Hotel Danny Stratton (Jeremy Sheffield) after taxi firm Street Cars was doing business with them.
He soon became attracted to her and asked Becky on a date but assumed he was already wrong for her when she saw another woman and a young boy through his living room window just before their date.
However, Danny cleared up this misunderstanding as the woman was his sister who was visiting his son Billy.
Becky and Danny hit it off and when he was asked to move to Barbados to run a new hotel, he asked Becky to move with him.
So despite having a difficult start in life, Becky ended up having a little family of her own with Danny and his son Billy on the sunny island of Barbados.
Coronation Street continues every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV.
