The 'real winner' of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 has been unveiled and it's not Ellie Leach, despite the ex-Coronation Street star being the one to life the Glitterball trophy.
Ellie, 22, won the BBC One show alongside Strictly pro Vito Coppola, 31, with the actress beating Bad Education star Layton Williams, 29, and EastEnders favourite Bobby Brazier, 20, in the final.
However, new reports suggest Bobby, who competed with Dianne Buswell, could emerge as the ultimate winner of Strictly 2023, as the soap star is set to see some huge opportunities come his way after proving himself to be a "serious star".
BBC bosses are said to be keen to keep hold of Bobby, who got his big TV break on EastEnders after being cast as Freddie Slater in 2022.
A TV insider told The Sun: "From the start of Strictly, Beeb bosses realised that they had a serious star on their hands — and the fact that he made it to the final was a complete bonus.
"So they’re incredibly keen to keep him with the Corporation, not least because Bobby is seen as home-grown talent as he got his big TV break on EastEnders."
Bobby isn't the only one that could benefit from his Strictly success either, as the insider claimed that TV bosses are eager to get him and his dad Jeff Brazier, 44, working together.
Jeff is a presenter who regularly appears on ITV's This Morning, but is also no stranger to reality TV, having competed shows including on Dancing on Ice, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Celebrity MasterChef.
The 44 year old, who is also dad to son Freddie, 19, could now be set to team up with eldest son Bobby for a new TV project, such as a 'travelogue', after their close bond was showcased on Strictly.
The insider said: "The travelogue show would be a shrewd way to tempt him to stay with the Beeb and is likely to be among the first of many projects they’ll tempt him with — many with a fat pay cheque too. Involving dad Jeff is also a smart idea as his profile has been raised enormously by appearing in the Strictly audience for the past three months."
They added: "The bond between Brazier junior and senior is obvious to everyone and bosses are keen to tap into that."
Jeff continued to support Bobby throughout his Strictly stint and was seen sitting in the audience cheering him on alongside Freddie and wife Kate Brazier at the majority of the live shows.
