A Place in the Sun: Laura is 'disappointed' after couple call off property search
Laura Hamilton admitted she felt “disappointed” as couple Carol and Mark decided to abandon a tour of one of the houses she’d selected.
Motorbike lovers Carol and Mark from Herefordshire first met nearly 30 years ago and have always dreamed of owning a holiday home in Spain where they can enjoy the sunshine and escape the long winter months.
They’d chosen to look in El Campello and had a budget of £130,000 on Friday’s A Place in the Sun.
Unfortunately, the couple made a habit of rejecting each property and during the first search they didn’t even complete the tour of the house.
“Small… too small,” Carol complained as she stepped into the bungalow overlooking the sea.

“Straight away, too small,” the house hunter continued.
“I think you’re right, I think it is too small – we won’t get anybody in this room, it’ll be too crowded,” Mark agreed.
“When you say ‘everybody’?” Laura probed before Carol answered: “If there’s us two it wouldn’t be so bad.
“But the minute our daughter comes over with three young boys…”

“There might be her partner as well,” Mark pointed out.
“That’s four adults and three children in here, and I don’t think it’ll work.”
“Would you like to see the rest of this property or is it not going to work for you?” Laura asked.
Carol shook her head and Mark replied: “I don’t think so. It is a little bit too small for us – it’s too much of a compromise.
“OK… I mean, this is what you get for this location,” Laura explained.
She added: “Why don’t you head out, I’ll lock up and moving forward, it feels like you need more space.”
Speaking to the cameras, she admitted: “I’m disappointed that Carol and Mark didn’t like this bungalow, which is on the market for just over £138 and-a-half-thousand.”
Sadly, the couple remained unimpressed and ended their search with no contenders as Laura admitted she felt she had “let them down”.
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays from 4pm on Channel 4.
