This Morning host Alison Hammond was collared for pretending to be a copper.

The telly star and a pal had borrowed uniforms for a theatre project.

But they were pulled over by a real rozzer while larking about in her car.

Alison, 46, explained: “The police had allowed us to have some old uniforms to use in a play.

“I had put on police hats and started barking orders at people in other cars, ‘Pull over! Pull over!’

“They’d pull over, and we’d drive off. How naughty is that?”

But the former Big Brother housemate soon got spotted.

She said: “A car drew up next to me at a traffic light.

“I was just giving them the finger when the woman in the passenger seat showed a police pass and said, ‘Pull over!’”

Alison got a ticking off, but it didn’t stop her wearing the uniform again on a night out in Newquay.

She said: “At one point, I went up to someone cooking burgers on the street and sternly asked, ‘Have you got a permit to sell these burgers?’ ‘No.’ ‘Hmm. Give us one and I’ll let you off,’ I said.”

In her new book You’ve Got To Laugh, Alison said filming the stunt helped her get on Big Brother, after she sent it in as her audition tape.

Alison recently hinted that she may be making a huge career change, teasing that she's looking to swap her hosting duties for a more political role – and it's safe to say that her fans are backing her.

The 46-year-old star joked that she'd be up for stepping away from her TV career and into No10 Downing Street in a bid to become the next Prime Minister.

Taking to Instagram and Twitter to announce the news of a potential career U-turn, Alison wrote "Statement !!!" on Instagram, and posted a photo of her tweet which read: "So I’ve thought long and hard about this, I’ve decided to apply for Prime Minister! I feel I would do a grand Job. Thoughts???"

Fans of the TV personality and presenter were overjoyed with her announcement, pledging their votes and getting excited over what the country would look like should Alison win seats over the country.
