Ruth Langsford has shared the heartbreaking news that her mum is "battered and bruised" after suffering a nasty fall.
The 61-year-old This Morning presenter shared the heartbreaking news that her mum has been forced to use a walking frame to get around after the accident.
Ruth is close with her mum Joan and regularly posts videos of them cooking a Sunday roast and singing as they share a glass of sherry.
However, on Sunday the presenter revealed that her poor mum had to miss out on their usual Sunday dinner due to the brutal fall.
Taking to Instagram to share a video of her patting Maggie, Ruth told her followers that that Joan was on her way to recovery and was in good spirits but was still "in pain".
Ruth posted a video of her beloved mum sitting on the sofa with Maggie, who she shares with husband and co-presenter Eamonn, and her walking frame just in shot.
The TV presenter captioned the sweet post: “Sadly no Mum for Sunday lunch today… she’s had a fall."
Ruth added: "Nothing broken thank goodness but quite battered & bruised poor love.
“She needs a walking frame to get around at the moment and is still in some pain but typical Mum…stoic and cheerful as ever.
“Maggie giving her some healing love.”
Eamonn quickly shared his support for the post, writing: "The Power of Healing in action through a Dog's unconditional and total Love. Maggie knows that something is wrong with Mrs L."
Ruth’s followers immediately rushed to support her following the bad news, as well as some of her TV pals.
