They once turned up to present This Morning in the same clothes they'd worn the night before to collect a gong at the National Television Awards for Best Live Magazine Show.
The following year, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby decided that, instead of raising a glass or two and risking a hangover on air the next morning, they would get tattoos to celebrate that year’s NTA win.
Things took a turn, however, when they were turned away from a tattoo parlour for being too drunk.
Reminiscing recently, The Cube presenter Phil said: "Holly and I said that we were going to get tattoos, but we were told that we were too drunk to give proper consent and couldn’t get one."
It was at that point that Bloodlands and Cold Feet actor James Nesbitt offered to step in and do their tattoos for them.
Recalling James’ enthusiasm, Phil said: “James Nesbitt said ‘if you can find ink and a needle, I’ll do it for you!"
Thankfully, no needles or ink could be found so James wasn't able to tattoo the award-winning pair and as far as we know, Phil and Holly have yet to commemorate their many wins with a permanent reminder.
On Thursday's episode of the show Holly, 40, and Phillip, 59, thanked viewers following their most recent TRIC Award.
The gong, which was voted for by the public, marks the second time in a row that the show has won big at the ceremony based at London's Roundhouse.
The TRIC award was a hat trick for the show, following their recent NTA's and TV Choice wins.

Holly began: "We wanted to start the show by saying a very big thank you!"
Co-host Phillip added, "Yes, yesterday we were rewarded with this – 2021 TRIC award for Best Daytime show – voted for by you, so thank you very much indeed. What a week! It's a hat-trick!"
Holly added, "It's amazing – that's three awards in two weeks – we are very, very lucky! And it's been a very long and tough 18 months, but we have got through it together."
