Madonna has hit out at Instagram after the photo-sharing site removed her racy snaps from the platform.
The 63-year-old pop legend raised eyebrows after posting a string of raunchy pictures of herself in a bedroom wearing a cut-out bra, fishnet tights and high-heeled shoes.
Back at the start of career, she kicked started the "underwear as outerwear" trend by wearing a corset body suit designed by Jean Paul Galtier.
She has continued to express herself over the years by facing the flesh in daring outfits.
Reposting the deleted images with heart emojis covering her bare breast, she penned: “I’m reposting photographs Instagram took down without warning or notification.
“The reason they gave my management that does not handle my account was that a small portion of my nipple was exposed.
“It is still astounding to me that we live in a culture that allows every inch of a woman’s body to be shown except a nipple.
“As if that is the only part of a woman’s anatomy that could be sexualised. The nipple that nourishes the baby.
“Can’t a mans nipple be experienced as erotic??!! And what about a woman’s ass which is never censored anywhere.
“Giving thanks that I have managed to maintain my sanity through four decades of censorship…… sexism……ageism and misogyny.
“Perfectly timed with the lies we have been raised to believe about the pilgrims peacefully breaking bread with the Native American Indians when they landed on Plymouth Rock! God bless America.”
Madonna sent her 16.million fans int a frenzy when she originally shared the series of risqué snaps online.
Taking to Instagram, people flooded her with comments as one user simply wrote: "Nipplegate."
Another said: "I'm shooketh."
However, many of her followers were instead less than impressed with the blonde startlet and her snaps, with one user writing: "Instead of doing these ridiculous pictures, do some of the quality music as you used to do."
