Liam Gallagher is gearing up for his solo performance at Glastonbury 2019 later tonight but he won’t exactly be dressed right for the occasion.
The former Oasis rocker will perform on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm this evening and has threatened to wear a winter outfit – one of his beloved parka jackets with a pair of gloves and a scarf.
Oh, and he’s fully aware that today’s set to be a scorcher with temperature highs of around 30°C.
Jeez, we’d hate to see those sweat patches.
Sharing an update with his Twitter followers hours before he hits the stage, Liam said on Saturday morning: ‘Well well well the BIG day has finally arrived GLASTONBURY PYRAMID STAGE can’t wait to get down there and see all the BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. LG x WHY ME? WHY NOT [sic].’
Concerned for Liam’s wellbeing in the blazing heat, one fan tweeted: ‘Liam surely you can’t wear a parka today it’s gonna be 33deg? [sic]’
He promised: ‘Watch me,’ before revealing that he fully plans on wearing ‘gloves and a scarf’.
To be fair, his body temperature has probably adjusted to wearing winter wear all year round.
Liam’s performance is one of the most anticipated of day two of this year’s Glastonbury, with the former Beady Eye rocker expected to perform tracks from his chart-topping debut studio album As You Were.
Fans are also hoping he’ll tease songs from his anticipated second studio album Why Me? Why Not, which is set for release on 20 September.
His Glasto performance comes after Liam recently described playing the music festival with Oasis in 2004 as ‘horrible’.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music’s Matt Everitt, Liam said last week: ‘I’ve always enjoyed Glastonbury. There’s only one that I didn’t and that was when I wore a white jacket.
‘I didn’t enjoy that because that was when I’d first started using in ears [monitors to hear the music] and it’s spun me out for 15 years. I’ve only finally took them out so I’m kind of getting back to normal. I hated that gig, man.’
