Hollyoaks legend gives birth to first child after miscarriage heartbreak

    Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox has given birth to a baby boy with husband Nicholas Willes.

    The 39-year-old actress, who plays Nancy Osborne in the Channel 4 soap, shared her exciting news with fans on Instagram on Tuesday (March 14).

    She announced that her and Nicholas had named with baby boy River alongside a series of adorable snaps.

    The new mum penned: "'Baby River, you have changed our world forever and we are so grateful we get to love you."

    Jesscia shared a number of photos from the birth, including one of her first cuddle with her baby boy as her husband looked on.

    Another snap showed proud dad Nicholas carrying their baby out of the hospital, while she also shared a close-up image of River's hospital ID bracelet, which revealed he was born on March 7.

    Unsurprisingly, Jessica's post was inundated with messages of support from her Hollyoaks co-stars and fans.

    Nikki Sanderson, who plays Maxine Minniver in Hollyoaks, wrote: "Hi River, I can’t wait to meet you. Congratulations!!! So happy for you all."

    Nadine Mulkerrin, best known for playing Cleo McQueen in the serial drama, added: "Welcome to the world River xxx."

    While Donna-Marie Quinn actress Lucy-Jo Hudson wrote: "Ahhhhhh Jess….. yes….. finally….. you get to hold your beautiful baby in your arms!!!! I’m so bloody happy for you! Love the name."

    Jessica, who secretly married Nicholas in 2020, revealed she was pregnant in October 2022, taking to Instagram to share a picture of her baby scan.

    In the post, shared on baby loss awareness week, Jessica also candidly opened up about her fertility journey, explaining she has previously suffered two miscarriages.

    Confirming her pregnancy, she wrote: 'This week has been baby loss awareness week.

    "So it seemed a good (and bad) time to share our story at the end of such an important and heartbreaking campaign and to show our support to all those who have been or are going through a similar journey.

    Jessica made her debut as Nancy in Hollyoaks in 2008 and has been a regular cast member since.

    Before becoming a soap star, she appeared in children's show he Worst Witch and The Muppet Christmas Carol movie.
