Elvis Presley was ’nuzzling’ against me says Linda Thompson
Following his separation from Priscilla, Elvis Presley had a couple more serious relationships before his untimely death at 42-years-old in 1977. From 1972 to 1976, The King dated Miss Tennessee model Linda Thompson who moved into Graceland with him. Now 70-years-old, Elvis’ former girlfriend often shares memories of her time with The King on social media and a recent post included a number of pictures from the star’s final years.
Linda was paying tribute to late Memphis Mafia member Joe Esposito on his birthday, sharing pictures of him guarding Elvis and herself from the mid-1970s.
She wrote on Instagram: “Flashback Friday and happy heavenly birthday to Joe Esposito who was Elvis‘s right-hand man for the years I was with him.
“Elvis had nicknames for everyone, and Joe’s was ‘Jaws’ because he had full cheeks, & ‘Gentleman Joe’ because he was…& ‘Diamond Joe’ because he had flashy good taste in jewellery and women.
“Joe was a good and faithful friend to all of us…he & I remained close until the day he died…”

The pictures see Elvis, Linda, Joe (who died in 2016) and other Memphis Mafia members walking along together, in cars and boarding The King’s private jet.
In all the photos from his final years, Elvis is wearing his big tinted glasses and appears to be rather cheerful.
He also has his big dyed jet black hair and sideburns, which he famously wore during his jumpsuit era.
Sadly, Elvis is also noticeably overweight, having expanded considerably in his last years as he declined in health.

Linda also recently paid tribute to the late broadcaster and interviewer Larry King, who died last week aged 87-years-old.
Elvis’ ex wrote: “In memory of the indomitable Larry King who had me on his show for the full hour on the 25th anniversary of Elvis‘s passing, and then again a few years later.
“I knew Larry for decades, and I trusted him to be fair in his interview style. I’ve included a few clips from that lengthy interview, so I hope you enjoy scrolling through.
“Rest in peace Larry…. or maybe find some illustrious, interesting souls to interview on the other side….”

January 8, 2021, marked what would have been Elvis’ 86th birthday and Linda paid tribute to her former lover.
She wrote: “There will forever be only one Elvis Presley… A true original. It’s difficult to imagine that he would have been 86 years old January 8!
“And though he has been gone from this world for many, many years, he still reigns as the king…the greatest entertainer ever to have lived.
“He still has millions of the most dedicated and loyal fans celebrating his memory around the world! It does not escape me that I am so very fortunate to have seen hundreds of his shows, and to have loved and been loved by the man.”
Linda added: “This clip of his performance is from the groundbreaking TV special, Aloha from Hawaii, and we had just started living together a few months before.
“Elvis was and will always be a profound influence on my life… Happy birthday, ‘Buntyn’ wherever you are…”
The 70-year-old broke up with The King around Christmas 1976, some eight months before his untimely death.
Their relationship ended amicably because she just wanted a normal life that wasn’t possible with Elvis and they remained good friends until he died the following year.
