A young lad who took to performing on TikTok after losing his job is reportedly now worth millions due to his enormous following.
Social media star Khaby Lame quickly became known in households across the world after achieving fame on TikTok.
The formerly unemployed 21-year-old began making funny videos after he lost his job in a factory during the coronavirus pandemic.
Khaby, who’s full name is Khabane Lame, uses the app’s duet and stitch features to mock modern “life hack” trends.
He shows his viewers the easier way to achieve what they want without ridiculous hacks and tricks.
Speaking to the New York Times, he explained: "It's my face and my expressions which make people laugh."
He added that his quiet reactions are a “global language”.
Khaby, who is originally from Senegal, used to work in a factory in the northern Italian town of Chivasso.
When the coronavirus pandemic struck he sadly lost his job, but despite his father begging him to get another paid role he started to spend hours on TikTok.
Without leaving his family’s “modest apartment” he started raking in the likes and follows.
Now, he has 100 million followers and a huge 1.5 billion likes.
That’s pretty impressive!
And, it means the young man is now worth a substantial chunk of money, reports LadBible.
Celebs Life Reel reported earlier this year that Khaby is worth between an estimated $1-$2 million (£722,165-£1,444,390).
And, as his follower count has only gone up he will now be worth even more.

To calculate this amount the site looked at 15 posts and found that the average engagement rate from his followers was 0.10%.
This means that the amount he would earn from a TikTok sponsorship per post would be between £9,636 and £16,061.
Since then, Khaby’s follower count has more than tripled and so his earnings will have as well.
The assessment was done when the young lad had 22million followers, but now he has over 100 million so it's likely that he's earning more money per post.
Influencer Marketing Hub stated: “Companies have been known to pay $200 to $20,000 per branded video promoted by influencers, depending on the individual's level of influence.”
Other young TikTok stars include Bella Poarch who has a whopping 77.9million followers and even released her own single earlier this year and Charlie D’Amelio who has 122million.
It looks like the TikTok kids could be making as much as popular YouTubers in no time.
