Where to shop Maya Jama’s Love Island debut crochet dress and a dupe for £27

Love Island is back on our screens and we’re officially giving up our evenings after 9pm to see the latest drama, romance, and, of course, outfits.

Although the contestants’ looks are dominating most of our outfit envy, host Maya Jama is giving them all a run for their money with her incredible opening night looks. Including a white crochet dress that has gotten everyone talking.

As the ITV show returned on Monday, Maya wore the cut out white crochet number to welcome the show’s latest batch of contestants to the villa. If you’re hoping to copy Maya’s look you might have to dig into your savings, as her exact dress was from Cult Gaia, and costs£2,500 here.

It comes in off white, which is what Maya opted for, or a vibrant shade of red called Ghermez Rose, and features a halterneck neckline, and cut outs around the waist. The backless dress also features oversized crochet panels and a short lining in the skirt section, with the website describing it as having “just the right about of openness and coverage”.

Maya took over the hosting job from Laura Whitmore at the end of 2022, and has been knocking her presenting outfits out of the park ever since.

In last night’s episode, she also wore a sheer white midi dress for the opening scene, which she shared a snap of on her Instagram captioned “All aboard”. Fans of the presenter couldn’t stop gushing about it on her Instagram, with almost every comment asking her where it was from.

The white sheer dress was the Nude Strip Dress,£400 here, from Greek designer George Trochopoulos, who’s loved by celebs including Kendall Jenner and Miley Cyrus. The dress fea\tures sheer panels and white knitted stripes, with an off the shoulder design.

She finished her evening’s looks with another knitted number, wearing a stunning cut-out cobalt blue midi dress. Her final look also came with an eye watering price tag, as it was luxury brand Balmain’s Ays Knit Drs LD32,£3895 here.

Fans of Maya’s designer pieces don’t need to worry though, as there are some great dupes out there to help you steal the presenter’s looks for less.
