Ever wondered if your name could have anything to do with who you attract, or with the future of your relationship?
Personalised cake delivery service BakerDays has analysed their order data to see which names are most likely to couple up as well, as the names of couples most likely to celebrate serious relationship milestones through the medium of cake.
Based on Valentine’s cake orders, they found the names of people most likely to get together and order a cake are Sarah and Michael, Jessica and Chris and Emily and James.
But these couples aren’t the same as the ones that tend to go the distance, as judged by orders for cakes celebrating long-term relationship occasions, such as anniversaries, engagements and weddings for example.
Apparently the top 10 couple name combinations most likely to reach these kinds of landmark celebrations are:
Andrea Guzyova, Managing Director of BakerDays, said: ‘Our unique, personalised cakes give us a fantastic opportunity to delve into patterns and trends, and at a time of year when love is at the forefront of people’s minds, we wanted to take a look at names of couples most likely to get together and make it to milestones in their relationship, just for a bit of fun!
‘So, if you know any couples with the names in our top 10, perhaps you should ask them what their secret to a happy relationship is!
‘It was interesting to see that the couples most likely to get together based on our Valentine’s cake orders weren’t then also listed as name matches most likely to make it to a milestone. Perhaps trouble is on the cards for them!’
If you’re a Dave who’s not currently dating a Steve, do not fret – it bears repeating that these are just the names of couples that BakerDays has found order the most celebratory couples cakes for milestones like engagements and anniversaries.
You’ll notice that the majority of the pairings are names you’d associate with white, heterosexual couplings.
It’s not that if you’re a Priya and a Suzanne you’re thus doomed to break up, but that perhaps you’re less likely to order a cake with your name on it.
Needless to say, cake isn’t the only metric by which one can judge the length and health of a relationship.
So if you’re a Liz who’s not with a Rob, don’t worry, cake does not dictate your fate.
