My husband died after getting Covid from me and I can't forgive myself

DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband died after getting Covid from me and I can’t forgive myself.

We were both really careful and hardly socialised over the past two years. I’m 42 and he was 51.

But this summer I got sick with Covid after going back to work. A week later he was coughing constantly and had a high temperature.

He took to his bed and never got better. He died in hospital soon after.

I can’t help but relive that day and go over what happened to him.

I can’t think of any happy memories – only that all of this is my fault.

I close up the house at night and know he’s not coming back. It’s heartbreaking.
