Inside Olympian Sam Quek’s beautiful home that features the most bizarre sculpture and their wedding arch

Sam Quek and Tom Mairs have exclusively welcomed OK! VIPs into their stunning home in Liverpool. The gorgeous couple share the cosy pad with their two Yorkshire Terriers, Max and Ollie.

But their gorgeous house recently became the home of another little sweetheart. Sam and Tom recently welcomed their first baby Molly after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage. Here, Olympic sportswoman Sam and her property mogul hubby Tom reveal the five things they love most about their home as they show us around in an exclusive video.

As the couple welcome us into their baby bubble, Sam tells us her first favourite thing is “the Olympic montage on the landing.” Sam won a gold medal as part of Great Britain’s field hockey team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

“It's a number of press clippings from the Olympics all the way through from the group stages to the final and getting our medals,” she explains. “Tom made an amazing picture frame for it so every morning I can wake up and walk past. That's up there with one of our favourites.”

Next up, Tom picks out the couple’s eye-catching kitchen table. Saturday Kitchen fans, get ready to be a little jealous as it looks a lot like the statement piece that features on the weekend show.

“It's made from driftwood and we got it from a little independent shop in Devon,” he tells us. The wood is then blasted to make it super hard and levelled out – we can’t help but admire the craftsmanship. It's from a place called Doris Brixham. We saw it on Instagram at first and absolutely loved it, got in touch with her and managed to get it delivered all the way up here to the Wirral.”

The couple’s incredible taste continues out into the garden where they have a gorgeous swing seat with a romantic backstory.

“In the back in our front garden you’ll find an arch with a swing inside of it,” says Sam. “We got married underneath the arch, put in a seat and every so often we'll sit outside on a nice day and reminisce about our wedding day.” Two words. Couple goals!

Paying tribute to their hometown, the couple also have an iconic Lambanana sculpture on their front lawn. “That's a replica of a statue that's in Liverpool,” Tom explains. “They commissioned 125 of them in 2008 when Liverpool was the capital of culture.

"The reasoning behind the lambanana is that it's supposed to symbolise two trade imports that came into Liverpool docks – bananas and lambs!”

The couple’s fifth favourite is in fact their number one most adored thing (or should we say things!) in the house. Max and Ollie – Sam and Tom’s Yorkshire Terriers – are the best thing about the couple’s home.

“They’re probably our favourite thing,” admits Tom. “They are. They should have been number one; they make our house a home. You can hear their little feet trotting around on the laminate flooring. They're our little boys aren't they…” Sam adds.

Tom also teases that their furry friends were actually the inspiration behind their newborn daughter’s name. “Depending on what you believe, they're the reason that Molly's called Molly because you've got Max and Ollie – Molly!”
