If you are to think of Jessica Simpson, chances are you’d picture her in tiny denim hot pants and cowboy boots, starring in the 2005 film Dukes of Hazard.

Although it has been 15 years since then the stunning actress, who is now 40, played Daisy in her most famous role she can still fit into clothes from that time.

Posting to Instagram in the hours before her birthday the star shared a snap of herself looking very slender and wearing a pair of low-slung tight jeans.

She captioned the picture, writing: “I have kept these throwback True Religion jeans in my closet for 14 yrs (I’m not exaggerating!).

“I figured that since I’m in the final hours of my 30’s I’d give them another try, and hello 40, so nice to meet you”.

But the star has worked very hard at her fitness in the last few years to look so trim, having lost a whopping 100lbs.

But how did she achieve her fitness transformation?

Well, Jessica’s trainer, Harley Pasternak explained to E! news that the star had lost the weight the right way, through healthy eating and exercise – no horrible fad diets here!

He explained that he wanted to not just focus on Jessica losing the baby weight after the birth of her daughter Birdie Mae in March 2019, but also facilitate lifestyle changes that would enable her to stay healthy.

The main way he has got Jessica to shed the pounds is by walking 14,000 steps a day. The star built up to it by initially walking 6,000.

Harley explained to E! News: "It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever.

"That's why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise.”

As for diet, the star has been eating three meals a day that are healthy and packed with protein, as well as two snacks.

Additionally, Harley explained that instead of cheat days the star is allowed several cheat meals throughout the week so she doesn’t have to go without her favourite foods. Sounds good to us!
