How you can get paid to drink mulled wine and visit Christmas markets

If there’s one thing besides Mariah Carey that screams Christmas, it’s strolling around a festive market while sipping on some mulled wine.

Now, this may sound like the perfect evening to follow a busy day of work, but what if it was your actual job?

Well, it turns out that it is – you can now get paid to embrace the festivities while eating a German Bratwurst and gazing at the sparkling lights.

Premiere Inn is currently on the lookout for five individuals who are obsessed with all things Christmas to become its new Christmas Market Testers.

As part of the job, the successful applicants will have the chance to visit different markets across Europe, including London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Frankfurt and Dublin.

The Christmas Market Testers will have their flights paid for, will enjoy a stay at a local Premiere Inn (breakfast included) and will be given spending money to let them truly soak up the Christmassy atmosphere.

What’s more, the lucky five will be able to take a plus one on their travels.

All Premiere Inn asks in return is for the recruits to take photos of the markets they visit and to write up what they liked best about their trip.

Content will then be used by the company to create a guide to Europe’s best Christmas markets.

To be in with a chance of making this dream job a reality, Christmas fanatics have until November 28th to apply and showcase why they have what it takes to spread the festive cheer.

All applicants must be over the age of 18, hold a valid UK passport and submit a short 250 word description of their most recent visit to a Christmas market.

Applicants can also include any relevant pictures and put forward their top two choices to visit from the five locations on offer.

Commenting on the opportunity, Simon Ewins, Managing Director for Premier Inn said:

"Here at Premier Inn, we love all things Christmas – and visiting a Christmas market is the perfect way to visit a new city, which is why we want to send five Christmas fans to some of the UK and Europe’s best festive spots to report back, safe in the knowledge they can rest easy with us after a busy day exploring the stalls.

“Christmas markets have gone from strength to strength in recent years and so we know our official Christmas Market Tester role will be a dream job for many, with the opportunity to explore markets in the UK, Dublin and Germany all on offer.”
