TikTok user shares a hack for cleaning out ovens
The microwave can easily become a hub of germs and grease if not cleaned regularly. Using a lemon to clean your microwave yields surprisingly good results, and smells really good too.
The bad smell of an unclean microwave is familiar to most.
How often you clean your microwave is up to you, but as food can easily get stuck and can cause horrible smells in a small amount of time, especially if food gets reheated several times.
Regular cleaning will also ensure your appliance lasts longer.
Using a lemon is a great shout if you are trying to avoid using chemical cleaners in your kitchen and it is well known for its anti-fungal and antibacterial properties.

You will need:
One lemon
A microwavable bowl or measuring jug
A clean, dry dishcloth or sponge
How to clean a microwave with a lemon
Fill a microwavable bowl or measuring jug until it is about half full.
Slice a whole lemon in half, and squeeze the juice into water, and place the lemon in the water.
Put the mixture in the microwave on the highest heat for three minutes.

Once it’s done, do not open the microwave door, but let it stand so the moisture can loosen any food or grease on the inside.
After five or so minutes, carefully remove to the bowl and remove the turntable if your microwave has one.
Using the dishtowel or sponge, wipe down the inside of the microwave.
Wait for the microwave to air out before closing the door.
If you don’t have any lemons on hand, you can use other methods that work just as well at tackling grease and grime.
You can use a similar method but swap the lemon for vinegar.
Add around 1 tbsps of white vinegar to two cups of water and put in the microwave.
Once done, wipe down the microwave and the door until the residue has cleared.
