Holly Willoughby’s close bond with Phillip Schofield and how she will ‘always take his side’

While recent days may have seenHolly Willoughby andPhillip Schofield face anongoing “queue-jumping” row – which they have strenuously denied – the pair are typically known for brightening up people’s mornings onThis Morning.

From their infectious laughs to their love for cheeky innuendos, the presenting duo aren’t afraid of taking themselves too seriously and seem to be close pals when they’re together on the famous ITV sofa.

And away from the world of This Morning, Holly and Phil are known for presentingDancing On Ice, too.

But away from the screen, what is their relationship like? Let’s take a peek…

Since Holly joined the This Morning team back in 2009, she and Phil have struck up a close friendship andthe pair once even headed on holiday together with their families.

Throughout the years, the duo have been spotted at a number of high profile events together, including Wimbledon 2022 where they were seen sharing a laugh and a joke.

During an interview together on Loose Women in 2016, Phil gave an insight into their friendship and said: “We hang out. What’s lovely is that my Steph and Holly’s Dan, everyone gets on, so it’s a foursome, we go out for a meal, you know… all the kids get on.”

Meanwhile, Holly added that she and Phil both “think in the same way”.

When Philip revealed that he was gay during an episode of This Morning, close pal Holly was there to support The Cube presenter.

As he spoke about his experiences, Phil revealed that: “I could not have done this, if it hadn’t been [with] you”.

As one of TV’s most iconic presenting duos, the Dancing On Ice stars can always count on one another when it comes to applauding each other’s successes on-screen.

To mark her co-presenter’s 40th year in showbusiness, Holly took to Instagram earlier this year to praise the milestone achievement.

“Today the TV oracle marks his 40th year in the business,” she wrote. “For a long time, I watched you, and then for the last 15 years I have been lucky enough to sit alongside you.

“You have taught me so much; you have always been patient and generous with me… It’s been an honour to play a part in your TV story… love you to bits.”

Elsewhere, an insider close to mum-of-four Holly toldheat magazine that “she will always defend” Philfollowing his alleged feud with Eammon Holmes.

“Working closely with Phil over all these years, she’s seen what a consummate professional he is – he is kind and fair. She will not tolerate people attacking him – he doesn’t deserve it and she will always defend him and be grateful for how much he has supported her,” they said.
