Former bunnies believe ghosts walked the halls of Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion.
The Gothic-Tudor property, which was built back in 1927, boasts countless rooms for entertaining, a wine cellar and grand swimming pool.
It was home to Hef for 43 years before he died in 2017 – but some believe the magazine mogul was joined by spirits too.
Girls Next Door stars revealed spooky folklore surrounds the property, which was nicknamed “the haunted mansion” as it looked like something out of Scooby Doo.
Holly Madison told Nylon: “People talk about it being haunted. There’s all these weird urban legends like trafficking tunnels. It takes on a life of its own.”
The 41-year-old isn’t the only one to get a spine-tingling feeing about the famous estate either.
Various residents reported seeing a scantily-clad female spectre and the ghost of an old man.
Bridget Marquardt feels like she was “born spooky” so is in tune with the spirit world.
She’s thrown herself into the world of paranormal investigation and even has her own podcast called Ghost Magnet.
The ex-bunny was joined by co-star Holly for one episode, which looked back at chilling memories from the Playboy Mansion.
Holly recalled seeing a “very contemporary looking” woman in the basement gym – who freaked her out by “disappearing” into thin air.
She said: “She didn't look at me or acknowledge me at all.
“She just was looking straight forward and walked toward where the weights were, which were around the corner from where I was standing.
“So I was like, okay weird…
“I go around the corner and she's not there. I was like where did she go?
“I never saw that woman again in my life.”
On another occasion, the Playboy pair were scrapbooking in their room when they noticed “paranormal” activity.
Holly recalled the “TV turned on by itself and the volume went all the way up”.
Bridget backs up this account and also remembers seeing a female ghost with her own eyes.
She said: “She had long, black stringy hair, very pale, very thin. She was wearing a white T-shirt that was too big on her and black acid wash-y jeans.”
The Playboy star has a feeling the spirit is a woman called Joanie, who was apparently a house-keeper who sadly died of cancer.
If that wasn’t enough to creep you out, there are rumours the notorious property is haunted by the wife of its original owner.
According to legend, Arthur Letts Jr’s partner died after tumbling from the balcony.
While the story hasn’t been confirmed, people have speculated whether the woman jumped, fell or was pushed.
Despite the ghost stories, there is no confirmation that the wife ever died at the Playboy Mansion.
But even if you don’t believe in the paranormal, former residents of Hef’s estate have horror stories about their time there.
Hefner’s former “girlfriends” have previously come forward to speak about the “reality” of living in the property.
Holly Madison and others claim it was a “cult-like” environment where a strict curfew was imposed.
They also recalled feeling pressured to participate in drug-fuelled events and seedy group sex sessions.
