Could 2 ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Heroes Appear in ‘Black Panther 2’?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has come a long way from brief cameos in post-credit scenes. In the latest Tom Holland Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Doc Ock, and Green Goblin from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and more collided. Now, some fans suspect two heroes, Ned Leeds and Michelle “MJ” Jones, from Spider-Man: No Way Home might appear in Black Panther 2 or Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Black Panther 2’ have strong connections to MIT

Over the course of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, Holland’s Peter Parker has grown up. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter, Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), and MJ (Zendaya) apply to MIT.

However, MIT rejected them after Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) revealed Spider-Man’s identity to the world through J. Jonah Jameson’s Daily Bugle. Getting into MIT made a catalyst for Peter to seek out Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help.

Meanwhile, Telegram & Gazette reported the Black Panther 2 cast setting up vehicles for a possible car chase scene in Worcester. They noted “two military-looking vehicles and a police car with Cambridge markings” on August 2021.

“With Spider-Man: No Way Home leaving Ned and MJ with no memory of Peter, and Peter not looking to reconnect, the only way they can feasibly appear in the MCU from here is to cross paths with another superhero,” Inverse noted.

Some rumors suspect Ned and MJ from Spider-Man: No Way Home could run into the Black Panther 2 cast at MIT.

A ‘Black Panther 2’ leak saw the cast filming at MIT, an important destination in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Depending on when the movies take place in the MCU timeline, Ned and MJ from Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Black Panther 2 cast would arrive at MIT around the same time.

And from the sounds of the report, Shuri and the other Wakandans will face plenty of obstacles at MIT. While they might not be the likes of Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, they cause some big problems.

“Scenes of Black Panther will be shot in various locations, including Atlanta,” Telegram & Gazette continued. “The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge informed members of the college community that filming will take place on a project called ‘Summer Break,’ the working title to Black Panther II, aka Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

However, Inverse mentions that rumors of Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s Batalon and Zendaya present at the Black Panther 2 MIT filming as “unclear.”

Could Ned and MJ meet Riri Williams, aka Ironheart?

Another theory floating around could connect Spider-Man: No Way Home, Black Panther 2, and the upcoming Disney+ show Ironheart.

While Tony Stark died in Avengers: Endgame, Marvel still has his Iron Man armor and tech throughout the movies. Peter Parker used the nanotech in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Pepper Potts has her own blue Iron Man armor.

The theory suggests Riri Williams, who uses similar armor to fight crime, could appear at MIT in Black Panther 2. This would put her debut ahead of her solo series.

However, Marvel has managed to tighten their lips even more when it comes to spoilers. Fans may need to wait a bit longer to see most rumors confirmed or debunked.
