Golf shoe makers FootJoy have been around since 1857, and they’re mostly synonymous with bringing golf performance to the brogue with styles like the ICON, Originals and Premiere through the years. However, the Massachusetts based brand has shown a desire more recently diversify its offerings, introducing contemporary sneaker-like silhouettes into its catalog, and one of those is the HyperFlex.
Profiling as a mid-height shoe with a fair amount of heel raise, the new HyperFlex Carbon receives several updates on last year’s model, the first of which is the titular feature which is the molded carbon fiber “power plate,” intended to provide more stability. The second update is a reinforced saddle strap which wraps all the way around the shoe. Meanwhile, similar to the last few years, the shoe offers a 100% waterproof technical mesh with a snug knit around the ankle, a Stratofoam and FTF+ cushioned midsole for maximum energy return, and six strategically placed Softspikes for traction.
For now the shoe comes standard in three different colorways, white with red and blue accents, solid white and solid black. You can pick up a pair for $200 USD on FootJoy’s official website.
In other golf news, Malbon Golf and adidas linked up once again for a range of polos and hoodies.
