Nick Jonas pays tribute to Priyanka Chopra and Malti in cute Walk of Fame speech

The Jonas Brothers were honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday and a snippet of Nick Jonas’ sweet speech was shared by his wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Doting mum Priyanka sat front row as the group received its coveted star and balanced her and her husband’s daughter, Malti, one, on her lap.

As Nick, 30, took to the stand to deliver his acceptance speech, he directly addressed his 40-year-old wife and Malti, drawing gasps from the audience, which was no doubt down to the fact that the event marked Nick and Priyanka’s first public appearance with their little girl.

Hitmaker Nick sweetly told his actress wife: ‘[You are] the calm in the crazy, rock in the storm. I love being married to you.

‘It’s the greatest gift. And I love being a parent with you. So Malti Marie, I can’t wait to come back here in 15 years and embarrass you in front of your friends.’

Quantico star Priyanka shared the clip with her 84.8million Instagram followers and captioned her post: ‘So proud of you my love! Congratulations @jonasbrothers.’

The Indian actress and Jonas Brother Nick welcomed their baby girl in January 2022.

However, it was touch-and-go for a while, as little Malti Marie spent over three months in hospital after being born a full trimester before her due date, and only returned home in late May.

Opening up on the ordeal earlier this month, Priyanka revealed her daughter was ‘smaller than my hand.’

‘I saw what the intensive-care nurses do. They do God’s work,’ she said.

‘Nick and I were both standing there as they intubated her. I don’t know how they even found what they needed [in her tiny body] to intubate her.’

For the next three months, the new parents had to shuttle daily to the neonatal intensive care unit during the first omicron wave in the US.

‘We spent every single day with her on my chest, on my husband’s chest,’ she added tenderly in an interview for British Vogue’s February 2023 issue.

‘I didn’t know if she would make it or not.’

Meanwhile, it was confirmed last month that American boyband The Jonas Brothers – made up of brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick – would be awarded the honour in the recording category on January 30.

In response to the news, the brothers thanked their fans for ‘the endless support’ with a post on the band’s official Instagram account.

They wrote: ‘Such a honor to be getting a star on the @hwdwalkoffame! We can’t thank you all enough for the endless support.

‘Hope to see you in LA on January 30th and if you can’t make it stream the ceremony live at!’

The Jonas Brothers rose to fame with their appearances on Disney Channel, eventually becoming some of the network’s most popular stars thanks to their leading roles in the 2007 film Camp Rock and its 2010 sequel Camp Rock 2 – as well as their own series Jonas.

The New-Jersey-born brothers later forayed into individual music projects, which found them further fame.
