In this current age of fashion, brands are doing their absolute best to push their brands forward with sustainable and ethical production practices. One of the imprints that’s implemented this into their plans is outdoor clothing and climbing company Arc’teryx. It recently announced the launch of their newest ReBird line, and now it has unveiled one of its more recent and smaller upcylcing initiatives: a collaboration with Kumanokoido — a made-to-order teddy bear brand.
These teddy bears are not your typical fluffy friends that you’d find at your local Build-A-Bear-Workshop. The Arc’teryx Flatiron location has teamed up with Kumanokoido to create a collection of bears that are each repurposed from damaged Arc’teryx Alpha SV Jackets. The colors vary between red and black bases, some of which are decorated with black eye and nose elements while others have silver or red detailing. Each take has an embroidered Arc’teryx embellishment that’s skewed to the left chest of the figure.
While the teddy bears on sale to the general public, they’re currently on display at the Arc’teryx Flatiron location in NYC.
While we have you here, be sure to peep a look at more of Kumanokoido’s work via its IG page.
Elsewhere in the fashion world, Gucci has unveiled its gaming-punched backpack collection. with 100 Thieves.
