Kiefer Ravena is the First Filipino Athlete to Sign With Jordan Brand

Kiefer Ravena has officially become the first Filipino athlete to join the Jordan Brand family. He joins the likes of big time professional hoopers such as Jayson Tatum, Russell Westbrook, Zion Williamson, Chris Paul, Asia Durr, Kia Nurse and more.

“I feel like I’ve been welcomed with open arms. I still can’t believe it”, says Ravena when reflecting on his newest signing. “I remember speaking to the Brand about it last year. The news has been embraced by a lot of people around me. It’s amazing to be part of this incredible team of athletes.”

For those that don’t already know, basketball in the Philippines is by far the most popular sport, so this is a huge win for the Southeast Asian country as the Beaverton-based imprint expands its on-court representation overseas.

Following Ravena’s dazzling run with the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP, where he racked up a duo of titles and claimed two MVP awards, he attempted to try his luck for the NBA by landing a spot on the G-League Texas Legends’ squad. From there, he made his way back home to the Philippines and was selected as the second overall pick in the 2017 PBA Draft by the NLEX Road Warriors. Having played just three seasons with the team, he’s tallied up an impressive 16.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.
