The actors who portrayed the Justice League for Zack Snyder‘s films will not be returning for the new DC universe spearheaded by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
According to sources, each character in the superhero group will be recast but the replacements for Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Ray Fisher, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa are yet to be announced. Momoa, however, may return to DC but not as Aquaman; sources claim that the actor is currently in discussions to portray Lobo either in 2025’s Superman: Legacy or a standalone film.
Although none of the Justice League actors will appear as their characters, Viola Davis will reprise her role as Amanda Waller in the new DC universe as she appears in the standalone Max series Waller and possibly Superman: Legacy. John Cena will also return as Peacemaker for a second season of the TV series.
In early August, there were conflicting reports of whether Wonder Woman 3 was in development with Gunn and Safran. Franchise star Gadot claimed that she was developing it with the two DC heads, but sources close to the situation alleged that neither Gunn nor Safran have plans of reviving the Wonder Woman project in their DC universe.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Netflix announced the release date of the sixth and final season of The Crown.
