Following the release of its Fendace collection, Fendi announces a two-year deal with Italian Serie A football club A.S. Roma, providing the team with its official off-field wardrobe. “This unprecedented partnership between Fendi and AS Roma originated from the common values and origins we share, celebrating the city of Rome and two firms that were founded here, one shortly after the other,” said Fendi CEO, Serge Brunschwig.
The looks will be designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the artistic director of accessories and menswear at the LVMH-owned label, who offers a glimpse at both formal and casual looks in dark blue and the official yellow and red colors of A.S. Roma. A real-life look at the off-field kits will be presented later this summer at the beginning of the 2022-23 Italian League season.
The move comes after the Inter Milan and Moncler partnership announcement last year and amidst Fendi’s efforts to lean deeper into its Roman heritage. The label officially changed its logo in 2013 to include “ROMA” subtext and has supported major renovations in the Italian capital over the years.
“The idea within this collaboration is to reinterpret Fendi’s and AS Roma’s codes and values creating a meeting point between the sports and fashion world through a common denominator, Roman roots and a strong link to the eternal city,” said Venturini Fendi.
