Warwick Davis pays emotional tribute to daughter as she stars on Hollyoaks

Acting legend Warwick Davis paid tribute to his daughter Annabelle after her Hollyoaks debut this week as a character called Lacey.

Annabelle Davis, who is most recognisable for portraying Sasha Bellman in the CBBC series The Dumping Ground from 2015 to 2022, made her appearance on the Channel 4 soap this week.

The 25 year old actress has undertaken the role of Lacey Lloyd, who moves into a shared house with other people in her age group, and will be central to several massive storylines in the coming year.

Specific details of her role are still being kept under wraps, but her doting father, Warwick, 52, has taken to Twitter to celebrate the occasion.

Addressing his 674k followers, the actor wrote: "Shout out to my daughter, @AnnabelleLDavis who debuts in the British Soap, @Hollyoaks tonight. Never seen the show but will be watching tonight!"

Fans flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts, with many of them gushing over Annabelle’s acting chops.

“She was fantastic. Loving Lacey already,” wrote one fan.

Another said: “She has been fantastic so far (I saw it on All4) and I for one can not wait to see more of her.”

“Your whole family will be taking over the film and tv awards soon. Dont watch the soaps, but will tonight,” a third said, as a fourth added, “Likewise I will be watching @Hollyoaks The very Best of Luck to Annabelle!!”

Annabelle has previously worked as an extra in several massive projects, most of which her father was also starring in.

In 2011, she played a “naughty goblin” in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 alongside the likes of Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

She’s also featured in several Star Wars projects, and in 2022, starred in the Disney Plus series Willow which is a sequel series to her father’s breakout role back in 1987.

Warwick has had an extensive career himself, having previously starred in both the Star Wars franchise and Harry Potter as Professor Filius Flitwick.

Outside of film, the actor, who lives with a form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, has worked on shows like Merlin, Doctor Who, M.I.High, and crime show Jonathan Creek.

In 2019, Warwick also played Lickspittle in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil alongside Hollywood legend Angelina Jolie, Michelle Pfeiffer and former The Crown actress Imelda Staunton.
