This Morning’s Alison Hammond is ‘favourite’ to host Big Brother reboot in 2023

This Morning's Alison Hammond is a clear favourite to front the reboot of Big Brother when it comes back on our screens in 2023.

The stalwart show, which followed the ups and downs of people living in a house together for a period of time, was a huge part of British TV after it kicked off in 2000, sparking celebrity versions and household names before its demise in 2019.

It was on this show, in 2002, that Birmingham-born star Alison found fame on the third series of Big Brother. Shortly after she found out she was pregnant.

Despite being the second person to be evicted, she went on to enjoy a great career in TV on shows such as This Morning, I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Celebrity MasterChef and Strictly Come Dancing.

Big Brother is making an explosive return to ITV2 and ITVX next year, after a teaser trailer was released during the Love Island 2022 final.

The legendary house has a brand new TV home, as the global television phenomenon is set to make its much anticipated return to UK television in 2023 after a long break.

A source told The Mirror: "Alison is top of the list to present next year's Big Brother. Execs think she's exactly what the show needs. She's energetic, fun, relatable and she was on the show, so she knows it inside out."

Alison's fans clearly agree, with one person tweeting: "Alison is one of the most successful former Big Brother housemates and one of the best, most energetic and charismatic presenters in the UK. Same way Brian and Rylan (who both won BB/CBB) were able to present the show, Alison should be given that chance."

Another wrote: "I'd have Alison in a heartbeat. We got her from Big Brother so now let her present it. #bigbrother"

Someone else, however, wasn't so sure about Alison as the presenter. Instead they threw their support behind Rylan Clark, who's known as the face of Big Brother's Bit on the Side.

One person responded to an article on Twitter suggesting that Alison was in the running, writing: "Thought they wanted a fresh face? No disrespect to Alison, but if they're not, it absolutely HAS to be @Rylan. No one is more devoted to #BBUK/ did more to bring it back".

She and former X Factor host Dermot O'Leary took over Friday presenting duties on daytime TV show This Morning in January 2022, replacing regular Friday hosts, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, where they've been well-received by the show's loyal viewers.
