The young adult novel The Sky Is Everywhere is being turned into a movie and the lead role will be played by actress Grace Kaufman!
You might recognize the 18-year-old actress from her work on the CBS sitcom Man with a Plan, on which she plays Matt LeBlanc‘s daughter Kate Burns.
The movie will be an adaptation of the YA novel by Jandy Nelson. The story “follows a teen as she works through the loss of her sister. Her journey includes accidentally falling in love,” according to Deadline.
Jandy is adapting her book and will write the screenplay. Josephine Decker, who previously helmed Shirley and Madeline’s Madeline, will direct the movie.
It has been said that the role was highly coveted and Grace beat out a “slow of actresses competing for the part.”
