Karen Hauer was forced to miss last night’s Strictly Come Dancing semi-final due to a knee injury, and will miss the finals of the hit BBC show as well.
Karen, who’s been on Strictly since 2004, took part in this year’s season with Greg Wise, but the pair were voted out on 17 October.
Despite having left the show a number of weeks ago, Karen, 39, has been cheering on her fellow dancers and their celeb partners in the audience, but since injuring her knee she’s had to stay at home.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday 11 December, Karen explained the nature of her injury to her 282,000 followers.
She said: “So currently I have two things wrong with my knee.
“So there’s a little bit of a tear on my meniscus and then there’s also a little cartilage flap behind my knee but they’re very minor so instead of an op I got a knee injection so that’s good news."
While Karen was pleased she didn’t have to go under the knife, she admitted that she has a phobia of needles.
“I mean, I am terrified of injections and needles. I hate needles so I’m glad that it happened already,” she revealed.

“I pretty much bit off Jordan (Jones Williams)’s jacket, but at least I’m not going into surgery which is good for now.”
“I need to rest for a couple of days and then I start rehab on Monday."
Karen went on to say that over the coming days she’ll be focusing on strengthening and conditioning, and that she’s “really looking forward to it”.
“This is very new to me. I’m laying in bed and it’s almost 10am but it’ll be for my own good,” the professional dancer added.
As well as Jordan, Karen is being comforted by her dogs Phoebe and Marley – one of which she shared a sweet snap with.
Karen and Jordan, 32, made their relationship official over the summer, meaning this season of Strictly will have been the pair’s first as a couple.
Despite the so-called Strictly curse,Karen spoke to OK! earlier on in the competitionand explained that Jordan has been supporting her from the sidelines.
“It can be hard because it’s his first time experiencing all of this with me,” Karen said.
“It's a big thing to throw at someone who’s new to a world that I’ve been living in for the past 10 years. I mean, it’s difficult enough when you’re in the business, but he isn’t so it’s a bit like, ‘Oh my God. What is happening?’"
