The wife of Shane MacGowan said she is “determined” to get him home from the hospital.
The Pogues frontman, 65, has been in hospital since July, and in a new health update his partner, Victoria Mary Clarke, shared a new photo of the Irish-born singer while in his hospital bed.
She admitted to feeling grateful that her rocker husband was looking “bright”.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (October 3), Victoria penned: “Feeling really really grateful that @ShaneMacGowan is looking so bright today!
“And we are as determined as ever to get home! Thank you a million times to all of the doctors and nurses and all of the staff and everyone who is visiting him!”

The heartwarming post was also shared on the Pogue rocker’s Twitter (X) account.
His official account retweeted his wife’s message with the caption: “I am grateful too and grateful to all of you always.”
Social media users reacted to the update, as one person penned: “He is looking much better. Home soon fingers crossed.”
Another commented: “He looks much better, I hope he continues to recover well and that you are both home soon. I send you my prayers.”

A third wrote: “Hope he gets to go home soon,” while another added: “Best of luck Shane you’re looking great.”
Shane has remained in hospital as he recovers from a spell in intensive care over the summer.
The rocker contracted shingles while in hospital, remaining there for just over a week before returning home in time for Christmas.
His wife has not addressed the reason for his most recent hospital admission.
She previously took to social media to thank a host of famous faces who have visited the Fairytale of New York hitmaker in hospital including Country crooner Daniel O’Donnell and Primal Scream legend Bobby Gillespie.
