Joe Swash is worried and "protective" over pregnant Stacey Solomon and worries that the star needs to “slow down” after Rex’s hospital visit this week, a source has told OK!
OK’s source adds that both Loose Women star Stacey and partner Joe were left shaken and “frightened” after two year old Rex was admitted to hospital for stitches after falling in the garden of their new home.
The source explained, “Stacey is quite chilled, she wants to do it all and loves her work and the kids. Joe’s worried maybe she’s doing too much. He found it difficult watching Rex go through having stitches.”
OK’s source added that Rex’s hospital visit gave them “both a bit of a fright and shaken them.”
They continued, “They’ve got four children at different stages and different needs and another on the way, plus Stacey’s busy work schedule. She is very much one to get on with it but I think this has been a little scare and Joe is encouraging her to look after herself more and slow down. Joe is very protective.”
OK! has reached out to representatives for Stacey and Joe for comment.
After returning home, Stacey said that she was "extremely overtired" but was happy to see a smile on Rex's face as he was reunited with his brothers. Today, the star gave an update and said she was "traumatised" by the events of this week and had a long day yesterday in Gloucester for work, so was going to "try and rest up."
Pregnant Loose Women star Stacey, 31, stayed overnight in hospital with her two year old son Rex after he suffered a “nightmare” fall in their garden earlier this week. The star said that Rex was dealing fine with his injury, but dad Joe was "a mess" when doctors looked at him.
Stacey was forced to stay overnight in hospital so doctors were able to give little Rex stitches for the cut on his lip first thing in the morning.
When Rex had gone in for the treatment, Stacey told her Instagram fans: "He's gone in Thinking of all the mummy's and daddy's and carers and extremely brave pickles who have to do this all of the time.
"It's not nice at all" she wrote, followed by a sad face emoji. "You're amazing, honestly you really are" before ending the message with a black heart emoji.
Following Rex’s surgery, Stacey gave her fans an update to let them know it all went really well. She explained: “She wrote: "Everything went so well. We will be back home soon. Thank you for your lovely kind messages… Thank you to everyone here at @bhrut_nhs [Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust] from giving birth here to fixing the pickles your staff and everyone who works so hard in your trust has always been so amazing.
"And I know first hand how busy and hard worked you all are. So grateful to our NHS always and forever… Thank you for all that you do, You're so incredible. And we are so lucky to have you."
The star confirmed she is pregnant with her fourth child and second with husband to be Joe earlier this month.
The new baby will join Joe and Stacey’s brood of boys. The couple, who have been together since 2015, share two year old son Rex. Stacey is also mum to Zachary, 12, and Leighton, eight, while Joe is dad to son Harry from a previous relationship. Stacey told fans she couldn’t wait to find out if she was having a boy or a girl as she wants to “decorate the nursery with a theme.”
