Perrie Edwards shares adorable clip of baby son Axel learning to walk

Perrie Edwards took to Instagram on Sunday evening to show off a new skill her baby boy Axel is mastering – learning to walk.

The 28-year-old captured the special moment in a sweet video uploaded to Instagram Stories of her son taking his first steps – with a little extra help along the way.

Walking to Elton John’s 1973 festive song Step into Christmas, Axel is seen appropriately dressed in holiday-themed baby pyjamas fully equipped with red stockings with Christmas trees on them.

The video finishes with a zoomed in shot of the little one’s face as mum Perrie is left beaming with pride at her baby’s progress.

The Little Mix star welcomed her first child Axel in August, in the same month bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock welcomed her twins, and shares him with long-time footballer beau Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Speaking about her experience as a first-time mother, Perrie described it being “the best kind of tiredness” in an interview with Heart radio weeks ago.

This special moment of Axel walking shared by the singer comes days after Little Mix announced they would be taking a break as a band to focus on solo projects.

The news confirms the rumours that had been swirling for months that the band would be splitting up as it emerged that, while Leigh-Anne is making her acting debut with Christmas film Boxing Day, Jade Thirlwall is ready to kick off her solo music career.

“Jade has already met with Sony to talk things through but has really been impressed by Atlantic — and all signs point to her going with them,” a source told The Sun.

Perrie has taken another direction individually with her casualwear clothing collection Disora, which sold out after launching only last month.

Appearing on the Graham Norton Show on Friday night after their announcement, Little Mix spoke more about why they are taking time apart from each other after ten years together as a band.

“We always said if we’re going to take a little break it would be on an incredible high, at our peak so it seems like the right time,” Jade said.

“We are family and love each other to bits so what’s lovely is that whatever we go off and do we can support each other through it and celebrate each other – it’s a lovely way to do it.”

Leigh-Anne added: “It’s time to spread our wings a little bit and do our individual things.”

The trio’s decision to break up comes one year after ex-bandmate Jesy Nelson quit the band and they insist that their split isn’t permanent and that they will return.
