Paul McCartney has said that his grandson was recently mugged at knifepoint in London and robbed of his cell phone.
In a recent interview, the Beatles legend recalled a similar experience he had to face as a youngster in Liverpool.
“He was saying the worst thing was that he should have just thumped the guy; he came back and felt a coward,” McCartney told The Times. “I said, ‘No, no, no, no! The guy had a knife and you don’t know, the guy might be able to use that knife.'”
“When I was a kid it was four guys and they nicked my watch,” he said, adding that he had wished if he learned karate and earned a black belt, he could have tackled the thief.
