Countryfile presenter Matt Baker, 43, has apologised to his 283,000 followers after struggling to operate his Instagram Live this week. Although the star has fronted several hit BBC shows including The One Show and Blue Peter, he admitted his technical live broadcasting skills weren’t up to scratch.
Matt took to the social media platform yesterday morning to give fans an insight into his day on his family’s farm in Durham.
The star was enjoying chatting away to fans before he encountered some issues while trying to get some of his followers to join in with his video.
He set up the Instagram Live while preparing to make an appearance on ITV’s This Morning to discuss his new book.
Matt explained while walking through the fields: “I’m trying to join in with people but I can’t seem to… it doesn’t seem to be happening for me.
“Let’s try again, I’m sorry everybody, I’m so bad at this sort of stuff.”
Looking puzzled while speaking through his phone camera, Matt said: “Oh, I think I had an option there, is that new?
“Sorry I shouldn’t be doing… this is so the beginning of lockdown isn’t it?
“Where people were going, ‘oh, how do you work this thing?’
“Sorry everyone, sorry.”
He added: “I was heading back up to the digger and now I’m requesting people who haven’t requested me!”
Fortunately, Matt’s technical errors didn’t stop his fans from enjoying his video.

During the programme, Matt gave viewers an insight into big adjustments he was making to his parents’ farm after his mum suffered a nasty injury.
Matt, his wife Nicola, and their two children rushed to the Durham farm to help out following his mum’s accident.
While announcing the exciting news about his forthcoming book, Matt said: “Big News, my first ever book is finished!
