Marnie Simpson has opened up about her brief split from fiancé Casey Johnson in January, admitting she was suffering from depression.
The former Geordie Shore star, 29, made the revelation as she discussed living with a chronic bladder condition in an Instagram Live.
Opening up about her symptoms, Marnie confessed: “I was ready to give up. I was in such a bad place because I couldn’t really do anything. And if I did, I was just a zombie.
"I was told by doctors I couldn’t eat things I wanted to eat, I couldn’t drink alcohol, I couldn’t eat sugar, I couldn’t have coffee. I became so obsessed with everything I ate.”

The star, who recently enjoyed her first ever swim with one-year-old son Rox, continued: “I was so unhappy. And I know people around us could see it. It affected my mam, it affected Casey, it affected everyone.
“Me and Casey briefly had a break in January – and no one really knows why because I don’t really talk about my situation on Instagram, but it’s because I was so depressed. I was so depressed in January. I’d lived with it [chronic bladder condition] for so long, it just changed us.”
Marnie added that her symptoms have now improved after she underwent surgery for the condition in October.

Speaking at the time, she told MailOnline: “I had my operation nine days ago so it's still really early. It was a pretty invasive operation.
“It's the same procedure that they would do for bladder cancer. I am still recovering and healing but I am positive that it's going to work.
“They went into my bladder and they basically burn, its 700 degrees, all of the top layer of it. I was absolutely petrified.”

Marnie and Casey briefly split in January – just months after getting engaged – and the star shared a series of cryptic quotes on her Instagram, which sparked concern for her romance amongst fans.
She later said: "I'm getting a lot of messages, a lot of questions and if I'm honest like, I know everyone means well, but I want everyone to just respect my privacy. That's it really.
"Don't want to talk about it. Tough time, everyone is going through tough times at the minute. So I'm not going to moan, but I just want everyone to just stop saying hurtful things and stop speculating and just yeah. It's just s**t."
She added: “What I've realised is that, over this past year is that no one, no one will ever know what goes on behind closed doors.
"I know that from experience, from personal experience. No one knows details, no one knows scenarios, no one knows situations, no one knows what's going on in someone's head, in someone's mind.”
