Mark Wright has revealed an actor friend of his had a lump checked out after he opened up on his own cancer scare.
Former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark, 34, revealed he had discovered a lump in his armpit in a candid Instagram post in December.
Mark explained that the lump was benign, but specialists feared it could possibly turn cancerous due to the size and speed in which it was growing.
The TV star later underwent surgery to have the lump removed and has been recovering ever since.
And now Mark, who recently showed off his surgery scar, has revealed his reasons behind sharing his story and what the response has been like from his followers.
He said of his decision to speak about his health scare: "I think it’s imperative to talk about it.
"I’ve had so many messages – I didn’t really think about it, but I was just like, 'You know what, if one person who sees this post has got a lump they’re a little bit concerned about and had otherwise just left it, it might just save their life,' so I did it."
Mark, who recently enjoyed a lavish getaway to Mexico with his wife Michelle Keegan, added to Metro.co.uk that an actor friend of his even had a lump checked out after his candid post.
"I’ve had so many messages," he said of the response. "Even an actor friend messaged me to say that he had a lump that was quite sore and that I reminded him to go and get checked.
"He is all alright and everything, but it just reminds people to get checked just to be sure."

Mark had to take his recovery slowly and wasn't able to workout for a while after the op. But, he has since returned to the gym.
"I had my first big gym session back the other day, and it was great to be able to get back to it and feel back to myself," he said.
The ex-TOWIE star was given the all-clear after his surgery and shared the news with his followers in a video.
He told his fans: "I got the news the other day that it is all clear, it's cancer free.
"It was a terribly worrying time but that's done now, it's in the past."
