This Morning host Holly Willoughby celebrates her birthday today. Despite turning 40, there will be no party for the mum-of-three, who was forced to cancel her big bash because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

During an appearance on TV last week, Holly told her co-star Phillip Schofield that celebrations would look a little different this year.

While presenting a This Morning segment on how to celebrate birthdays in lockdown, the television star spoke about her cancelled plans.

“This is a bit bittersweet for me because next week it’s my big 4-0 and tomorrow night I would have been having a big party that I had to cancel.”

“So it’s obviously going to be looking a bit different. And it’s fine,” she told her co-host and the viewers at home.

“In the grand scheme of life as long as I’ve got cake and a drink, I will be happy,” the presenter went on to say.

Ahead of her milestone birthday, Holly admitted that she was “looking forward” to turning 40.

She said that her 30s had been focused on motherhood and around her children, and the new decade marked a new chapter and a chance to find herself again.

Holly shares three kids with her husband of 13 years Dan Baldwin: Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, six.

On Sunday, the ITV star revealed that she had been “spoilt” by the cast and crew at Dancing On Ice ahead of her big day.

She took to Instagram to thank her co-workers for kicking off her birthday week “in style”.

The former Xtra Factor host posted a photo of herself in a stunning blue dress in front of her name in lights.

She captioned the snap, which was shared with her seven million followers: “Thank you @dancingonice for making me feel so special… it’s kicked off my birthday week in style.

“Honestly felt overwhelmingly spoilt today with all the decorations and cake!!!! Thank you…. love you to bits!”

Yesterday, Phillip joked that Holly was “like the Queen,” celebrating her birthday all week.

On her birthday eve, she said that it felt a bit “weird” to be turning 40.

“The only reason that it feels a bit weird is that I’m going from the threes, the three-somethings, to the four-somethings. Forty something, so it’s quite a bit one.”

Holly kicked off her presenting career on children’s television hosting the Ministry of Mayhem with Stephen Mulhern from 2004 to 2006 among others.

That same year she landed the gig on Dancing On Ice with Phillip, and developed a partnership that continues to this day and no doubt helped land her the role on This Morning three years later.

Over the years, Holly has also appeared on a number of other shows.

She was a team captain on Celebrity Juice alongside her pal Fearne Cotton and creator Keith Lemon for 12 years and also presented Streetmate and Holly & Fearne Go Dating.
