Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart, and Sofia Carson sent late co-star Cameron Boyce heartfelt messages on Friday ahead of the premiere of their new Disney Channel film, “Descendants 3.”
Taking to Instagram, Cameron, 23, shared a screenshot of the cast’s group chat, which included texts to Boyce, who died at the age of 20 last month from epilepsy.
“I love you so much,” Cameron texted, following Carson’s note. Stewart also wrote, “I love you so much too.”
Cameron, who starred as Mal, the daughter of Disney villain Maleficent in the franchise, also posted a behind-the-scenes video Saturday, gushing about her experiences over the last few years.
“These past 6 years have been filled with more growth, more deep, true love and more vibrant LIFE, than most people experience in a lifetime and for that, i am forever grateful and forever indebted. i am humbled by the relationships i have made, the family i have found,” she captioned the clip, also thanking Boyce, Carson, 26, Stewart, 25, and director Kenny Ortega.
“To @sofiacarson , @booboostewart.art and cameron. words fail me. my heart is heavy with pain, and aching, agonizing love. my siblings. 6 years with the best. how did i get so lucky?” Cameron added.
In addition to Cameron’s sweet sendoff, Boyce, who portrayed Cruella de Vil’s son Carlos in the movies, was honored with a two-minute video tribute that aired after the film.
“Everything you are. Every smile, every laugh, every dance, every hug, every moment, everyone you touched. You mean everything to us,” the on-screen message read.
