Beyonce has remained one of music’s one enigmatic figures, often shielding her private life from public view.

Over the years, we’ve been blessed with glimpses of Beyonce as a mother, as a wife and a friend, but not nearly enough as we see her delivering show-stopping performances on-stage.

Fans have wondered all manner of things about the ordinary Beyonce behind the Hollywood smile: Does she eat midnight snacks like us? Does she ever get embarrassed? Does she also swoon over Rege-Jean Page while binge-watching Bridgerton for hours on a lazy Sunday?

Basically, is she just like us?

The answer friends is yes, Beyonce is just a regular girl deep down.

A scene in her Netflix documentary Homecoming showed Beyonce getting excited that she was able to fit into a dress and FaceTimed husband Jay Z to share the moment.

‘I’m back in my costume, it zipped,’ she told him in the video call.

His response? ‘Alright’. Not a man of many words, is he?

Bey gives him a thumbs up and replies, ‘Alright, just had to share,’ but she obviously wanted a bit more of a reaction judging by her eye-roll.

Her assistant had the same thought and wondered: ‘Why aren’t guys as excited,’ prompting Bey to shake her head clueless.

So. Normal.

When she got giddy about her wedding anniversary 

In the Homecoming documentary, Beyonce gave her team a stern talking to about the rehearsals not progressing quickly enough. However, she then switched from boss-mode to loving wife in a heartbeat.

Her frown changed to a smile and she jumped up and down while doing a celebratory dance, announcing that it was her anniversary. She then smiled at Jay Z who was sitting beside her, before going off to enjoy some quality time on their special evening.
