Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard and his Love Island star brother Curtis are said to be “gutted” after police dropped the case against their nightclub attack suspect.
The famous brothers were left with shocking injuries after being attacked by a group of eight thugs at a nightclub in Cheshire last December.
However, AJ, 24, is said to be “very upset” after police dropped the probe into the assault, with he case against the only suspect charged being “discontinued”.
Cheshire Police confirmed that there’s insufficient evidence to move on with the investigation into the December 27 attack.
A spokesman said: “Officers have carried out numerous enquiries. “As a result, a 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault.
However, the case against him has since been discontinued at a magistrates’ court.”
A friend of AJ’s told the Sunday People: “He’s very upset. He feels justice has not been served. He’s been the victim of a violent crime and nothing has been done.”
Curtis bravely opened up on the horror attack before his stint on Love Island, as he thanked fans for their support.
He said: “It’s been incredible, the support, [they had after the club incident] I didn’t expect it find it. It’s a bit weird and messed up because you get all of this fame and newspaper coverage but things like this happen all the time.
“But there shouldn’t be this attention because of who someone is, the attention should be on that it shouldn’t be happening – not because of who it happened to."
Maura Higgins’ beau added: “I’ve learnt a lot from it – there’s more to worry about then if I’m late for work, or tied up in the smallest of things.
“You don’t need to do a lot more to life other than be nice protecting people. I learnt a lot.”
Curtis previously opened up on the shock attack in an upbeat New Year’s message to his fans, saying how the incident brought him and his brother AJ even closer.
Alongside a picture of the pair shared to Instagram, Curtis wrote to his followers: “Thank you everyone for your support to myself and @aj11acewho I’m Lucky enough to call my best mate and my brother.
“The current events that have happened have yes been tragic but also a blessing.

“It’s brought us even closer together and made us stronger then ever.
“We will be entering this new year with positive minds and with the knowledge that sometimes people knock you down and try and break you.
"But having your family there and the love we share for each other nothing can break us… we are starting this new year with the brightest of futures ahead. #2019#happynewyear.” [sic]
Curtis had to pull out of appearing on Dancing With The Stars in Ireland as he was forced to undergo emergency surgery on his knee just days after the attack.
