9 celebrities whove had supernatural encounters including Adele, Cher and Kendall Jenner

The season of Halloween is officially upon us, where we celebrate all the things that go bump in the night.

From having a good cackle while trick or treating, staying under the spell of a scary movie or carving out a night on the tiles, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to ringing in the terrifying holiday.

However, whether you truly boo-lieve the supernatural and spine-chilling origins of Halloween or not, many celebrities have sworn of their real-life ghostly encounters.

Here, OK! takes a look at the hair-raising stories relayed by unsuspecting stars, who have been left frightened by their brush with the paranormal.

Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter contacted the spirit of Princess Margaret to get approval to play her on the Emmy award-winning series The Crown.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2019, the British actress said the spirit gave her the following advice: "Get the smoking right. I smoked in a very particular way.

"Remember that – this is a big note – the cigarette holder was as much a weapon for expression as it was for smoking."

Easy On Me hitmaker Adele was reportedly left frightened after "hearing things that made her jump" at her £7 million Sussex mansion.

"I'm not rattling around here on my own. It gives me the creeps," she reportedly told a friend according to The Sun on Sunday.

The mother-of-one was said to have forked out £100,000 a year on a live-in security guard at her 10-bedroom property.

Ariana Grande

Pop superstar Ariana Grande was left spooked after visiting Stull Cemetery in Kansas City, known as "one of the seven gates to Hell on Earth".

"I felt this sick, overwhelming feeling of negativity over the whole car, and we smelled sulfur, which is the sign of a demon, and there was a fly in the car randomly, which is another sign of a demon," she told Complex.

"Then I took a picture, and there are three super distinct faces in the picture… They're faces of textbook demons."

Back in 2013, icon Cher revealed that she was being haunted by the ghost of her ex-husband Sonny Bono.

"I have a beautiful chandelier that he makes the light go on when it is impossible, there is no power on," the 75 year old.

Admitting that she was not scared of her supernatural experiences, she added: "I love ghosts. I prefer ghosts to some people."

Kristen Stewart

Spencer star Kristen Stewart is another celebrity who interacts with ghouls.

"I talk to them," Kristen previously said. "If I'm in a weird, small town, making a movie, and I'm in a strange apartment, I will literally be like, 'No, please, I cannot deal. Anyone else, but it cannot be me.'

"Who knows what ghosts are, but there is an energy that I'm really sensitive to. Not just with ghosts, but with people. People stain rooms all the time."

Kendall Jenner

Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kendall has spoken about her experience with a ghost turning on Kylie's shower at her mother Kris Jenner's home.

She explained to Vogue: "Kylie and I would always hear footsteps on the roof while no one was home."

Richard Madeley

Earlier this week, Good Morning Britain host Richard recalled the moment he saw what he thought to be a ghost in his home.

"I was sitting in the garden in the summer having a little doze. I woke up, I was looking at the paper, and I just had the instinct to look up at the window that overlooks our garden from our house," he explained.

"In the window on the top floor of the house was a white face looking down at me," Richard continued. "It was just staring at me, and I thought, we've got an intruder, so I went in and checked that Judy was on the ground floor – which she was – I went upstairs, and there was nobody there."

Kate Hudson

Kate and her mother Goldie Hawn can both "feel" the spirits of the dead.

"When you see something, you are supposed to tell the energy what year it is and that they don't belong there," she told The Chatty Man Show.

Howie Mandel

Howie was a firm non-believer in the paranormal before being forced to sell his house after both his daughter and their au pair terrifyingly saw the spirit of a bearded man.

Speaking on the show Famously Afraid, he said: "I was not a believer in the paranormal. You use words like 'coincidence' or 'figment of my imagination,' but as those boxes are checked off the list… I don't have any other answer for what my experience was."
